Fineline
Fineline tattooing is defined generally as tattooing that uses very thin line weights. In the past, “fineline” was strictly defined as “single needle” tattooing. However, the technology has changed and there are many needle groupings used now to create very thin fine lines. Some of the images in this gallery are not strictly “fineline” tattooing. I often work in an illustrative style that makes use of extremely fine lifework though. So even if the outer line work is bolder, the crosshatching and shading is done with very thin lines.
