Returns;
All sales are final. No returns. If items are received damaged, please email me. All prints and original art are shipped with adequate insurance.
Terms for retainer fees are as stated in the retainer agreement (below). All artwork is copyrighted and owned by Ben Matthews. Prints and originals are sold to be displayed privately. Do not reproduce. Public display of Ben Matthews’ work for profit or gain is forbidden unless prior written permission by the artist is given. All tattoo designs are intended to be used for tattooing only. Any other use violates these terms. Permission from Ben Matthews must be obtained in writing for use for any other purposes.

Retainer Policy;
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Retainers are NOT refundable or transferable once design work has begun. Retainer payments are for the design process and securing your appointment for a single custom tattoo design. Minor changes and adjustments are allowed during the design process. Major changes to the design, departures from the original design concept will require a new retainer.
The retainer is applied toward the price of the tattoo. If the tattoo will take more than one session, the retainer will be applied toward the LAST session. You will need to pay for your session in cash, so please plan accordingly.
Retainers are non-refundable therefore, if you have questions or are not 100% committed to getting tattooed, please talk to me before paying the retainer. Custom tattoos are charged at my current hourly rate, which can be found on the Tattooing page of this site and will be stated in your estimate. The hourly rate will be determined by how much work the design process is. How long a tattoo will take can vary greatly and depends on many variables which cannot always be predicted. So please understand that any price estimates given are estimates ONLY. The final price may be more or less than the estimate given, though I always strive to be as accurate as possible.
The amount of your retainer is based on the estimated time needed to complete the tattoo. You should plan on the retainer being approximately 30%-50% of the low estimate of the total tattoo cost. There will be exceptions made for very large pieces that will span multiple sessions.
Your retainer will be forfeit for the following reasons;
-More than one reschedule of your appointment.
-Canceling, rescheduling, or not showing up for your appointment with less than 5 days notice.
-Arriving more than 30 minutes late for your appointment.
-Arriving drunk, or otherwise impaired by a controlled substance.
-Arriving dirty. Please understand that tattooing is an invasive procedure that involves breaking the skin. Please come in clean, and in clean clothes.
-Arriving without proper ID. You MUST be at least 18 years of age to be tattooed in the state of California. (Driver's License or Passport ONLY. No school IDs.)
If you need to cancel or reschedule, or if you are going to be late for your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible so I can make arrangements to fill the time in my schedule. If you have ANY questions or concerns about this policy, please feel free to email me before you pay.
